Question:

A Chuck Barris inspired question here:

Would you rather be scorned for producing some of the worst television programs ever, programs which damage our collective American culture (e.g. The Gong Show, or Temptation Island), or would you rather be lauded for killing people (i.e. as a highly-skilled assassin)?

Bonus points for getting the song reference, triple bonus if you can explain why I picked it. But no cheating.

i'd be the tv producer. it's all about teh money and teh babes.

and, somehow, i feel it's just slightly less evil. plus, it's a lot less work than training to become one of the best assasins on the planet.

i'll take assassin over producer any day. Minus the evil part that is. It is just cooler. And I am guessing the money is actually better in the killing then tv.

the song is called palisades park... beach boys... not sure why you used it, but it is kind of a crappy song. much like the tv shows mentioned.

You got the song title right, but not the artist.

Palisades Park (I don't know the artist) was co-written by Chuck Barris. That's why you use it. Where's my prize?

Oh, and I'd be the TV producer. Killing people is wrong. Degrading culture is fuuuuuuuuuuuun.

Not that I'd ever really kill anyone...but I'd be the highly-skilled assassin. I'd do it for the thrills, secrecy, and the ability to manipulate people....

The artist was Freddy Cannon.

Ben, you get the triple bonus points. There is no prize, until you've built up many many more points. Kind of like how it was with Westlaw.

I think I'd go with being an assassin too. But the whole greasing up microfiche to put it in your tukus doesn't appeal so much, so maybe I'd go with producer.

also covered by the ramones as well as the beach boys

The TV producer. It's easier for those of us who don't believe in the existence of culture "degradation."

Unless, that is, I could be an assassin who doesn't kill people but just embarrasses them in stealthy yet hilarious ways. Which would make me the producer of "Candid Camera." Which was hilarious. So really, they're both the same thing (using my impeccable and unassailable logic).

Jeff - Nice.

Eric - covers don't count.
